Bio

Lloyd Berg is a board certified clinical health psychologist and associate professor of psychiatry at Dell Medical School. His specialties include hospital consultation-liaison practice, transplant psychology, psychiatry resident teaching and motivational interviewing training. He also conducts research on musician mental health in Austin, the Live Music Capital of the World.

Berg received his bachelor's degree in psychology and master's and doctorate in counseling psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. He served as behavioral science director of the Austin Medical Education Programs Family Medicine Residency and co-founded Austin's first health psychology specialty group.

Berg is board certified in clinical health psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. His honors include the Outstanding Contributions to Clinical Health Psychology Award from the American Psychological Association's Society for Health Psychology. He is past president of the American Academy of Clinical Health Psychology.
