Bio

Kumar Kothapalli is an associate professor of pediatrics at Dell Medical School. He is a human geneticist and moved to Dell Medical School from Cornell University. Kothapalli received a Master of Science degree in human genetics from Andhra University and a Ph.D. in genetics from Osmania University. He conducted his postdoctoral fellowship training in genetics and genomics at Cornell University. Kothapalli served as ad-hoc reviewer for several scientific journals. He has made significant contributions in identifying human genetic disorders and conducted studies that are linked to nutritional issues. He has taught and trained physicians and postgraduate genetics students to detect and identify human genetic disorders using cytogenetic, biochemical and molecular tools. His contributions have resulted in several publications.
